Blight claim Corsair Challenge title

Finland's Blight Gaming, ranked sixth of Europe in our November Rankings, has claimed first place in the Corsair Challenge, a 64 team single elimination tournament hosted by Esports Heaven in cooperation with Corsair and dabs.com.

With victories over teams such as GIGABYTE (13-7), deCerto (13-9) and Button Bashers (16-14), the Finnish side made their way to the Grand Final, which was played at 20:00 CET yesterday evening. With five Corsair HS1 USB Gaming headsets up for grabs, Blight went head to head with eSuba from the Czech Republic in a intense best-of-three matchup.

eSuba in turn are a force to be reckoned with in any competition and the Corsair Challenge might give them that extra push to make this month's top 10. The Czech side was able to outlast the field of 64, defeating eMpathy after double overtime (19-15) before taking down phys1x 13-11 in the Semi-Finals.

All in all, the tournament could not have asked for a closer ending: after taking mp_district 13-7, Blight Gaming lost the second map to eSuba on mp_backlot, 10-13, before delivering the final blow in overtime on mp_strike: 16-14.
