Anexis eSports Secure BECUP #5

With the Hungarian scene being quite the strong one, the local BECUP events are always filled with exciting games and local teams having a shot to prove themselves versus the number one in Europe in a competitive LAN setting. Anexis eSports partook and took the win in the Best-of-Three Double Elimination Bracket.

It's already the fifth year that the Budapest Esport Cup has been organized and each time, we see the best of the best in Hungary (sometimes even some foreign teams) attend the event and collect some money. Call of Duty 4 has been part of the event for a couple already and a total of fourteen teams showed up to play in the €1,360 event.

Besides Anexis eSports, you could see the two main competitors arrive as well, with Team GIGABYTE and CROMAX stepping up and hoping to make it a close event. During the Group Stage, CROMAX had an unexpected draw, but they still went to the Playoffs in second place. All in all, a very expected Bracket was planned on the last day of the tournament.

Anexis eSports did what everyone expected, won all of their games with clean 02-00 scores and hadn't yet lost a map before they were already guaranteed a Grand Final spot after taking out CROMAX in the Upperbracket Final. That same CROMAX proved to be the new number two of Hungary by beating Team GIGABYTE with clean 02-00 figures as well. Having come from the Lowerbracket, the team needed to win the won Bo3, whilst Anexis eSports only needed one map to secure their victory. On mp_citystreets, the plight was quickly dealt with and a close, but still winning, 13 - 11 result for Anexis eSports sufficed to win the event.
