The Alienware Backpacking Challenge is back with its 2011 edition and with four lucky contestants looking to follow in the footsteps of Livia "Liefje" Teernstra, last year's Backpacking Challenge winner.Equipped with an Alienware M11x laptop, a video camera, and a set of camping equipment, and with €3,500 at stake, this years contestants will travel across Europe to entertain their global audience, who will eventually determine the winner!
In the next weeks, the group will travel - seperately - from London across Europe only to meet again at the Gamescon in Cologne, Germany, which is set to take place between the 16-18th of August.
Selected from the countless of applications are four lucky 'winners', who will be competing in weekly challenges to earn your vote and earn some extra money for their trip. The four who will be taking up the challenge are student Emer Sugrue, a 22 year-old Arts student from Dublin, Ireland,
John "Friza" Reilly and a familiar face from the Counterstrike: Source community as former captain of Team United Kingdom and Team Infused. Next up are
Miguel Alonso, a 26 year-old Spaniard from Salamanca, Spain currently residing in Ireland and Bulgaria's Petya "FoXy" Jeleva, a 28 year-old female Counterstrike 1.6 player.
