AEF: The final round of group A & F

In the final round of group A and F, the two seeded teams of each group will be going head to head in a battle for first place and direct entry into the second playoff round.

In group A, tournament favorite fnatic will face the 16th seeded TheLastResort, who have had a tough tournament thus far, losing to AIRBORNE Gaming and giving away a 11-4 lead on mp_crash versus Adversity, which ended up in a draw.

Given that both Adversity and TLR lost to AIRBORNE 11 to 13, both teams are likely to end up tied for third place, in which case the rounds won / rounds lost will determine who advances to the single elimination stages.

With fnatic all set to take first place, assuming they overcome AIRBORNE in the sixth round, things could work out in the advantage of TheLastResort. The mixed European based team are on the verge of getting knocked out and will need to gather as many rounds as possible in their game versus Five and hope fnatic don't take their final game too seriously. If they do, an upset is out of the question.

fnatic face the the only other seeded team in their group.

The Russians from RAGE in action at AEF. Can they cause the biggest upset yet?

The Russian team RAGE, who are making their first appearance a major European Call of Duty 4 LAN event, look to be in much better shape than TLR. RAGE, a team that was heavily criticized in the past, could pose a threat for fifth seed Power Gaming and can look back at a good tournament so far, overcoming VYE, Psycotic and drawing Fragmasters on mp_crossfire.

In theory, Power Gaming should top their group. Their LAN experience, with two third places at CIC7 and SEC, and individual skill, combined with the fact that they have made no mistakes so far, should give them the upperhand in the decider of group F.
