AEF: Review Round 3

Both matches did not end as close as I would have liked and expected them to be, both the favourites managed to lock down their matches and secured three easy points on their way to the play-offs.

Team Thermaltake are trying their best against the French but often the French are playing too quick and too aggressive for the stereotypically slow and calculated Germans. This resulted in a round difference at halftime, with Team Thermaltake having attacked on mp_district and when the sides switched, it became apparent that the youngsters in Team Thermaltake were too eager for their own good and did not know when to pull back and what specific corners to check, anticipating a Frenchman lurking about.

On top of that, MondialServers are allowed in the bombspots without too much opposition and they lack the power to convincingly retake the bomb within the time frame and each time, it came down to 1 v 1s or 2 v 2s, but as the time was ticking down already, they had no time to act and just had to rush in, which is the easiest thing to defend if you have a bomb down.

With the tournament now almost over and done for the Germans, they need to walk away from this tournament with the idea they have to work on their in-game coherence, not trying to be too brash in matches and just try to simplify their game, yet execute without problems. MondialServers will have to look towards Team Derailed to secure their top 2 placement and perhaps even challenge Team-Dignitas.

I did no spectate the match, as it was simply over so quickly. Gamersject lost a lot of rounds on a map that is famed for its very one-sided matches. With this result, Gamersject are looking to be one of the fastest teams out of the tournament as soon as they hit the play-offs. The Croatians can, in some respects, be happy that they find themselves in one of the easier groups, not featuring too many favourites and a lot will have had to be changed by tomorrow if they want a fighting chance against one of the other numbers two.
