AEF: Review Fragmasters vs Iuro

Posted by Bob Bcrbo Van de Voorde on 2010-07-30 12:12:04
Fragmasters turned up to play and displayed a team that is looking well, even though their aim is the most crucial thing that needs to be worked on. It is the main reason that Iuro made it so close, as, with better aim, the match could have been over way more quickly.

As Fragmasters are building up a lead over Iuro while attacking, there is one impression that is more important than the score given and that is the composure and attitude these veterans bring to their gameplay.

The thing I feared for in my Preview of this match seemed completely unjust, as the Brits are playing calm and collected, communicating slowly and so far are not getting upset. Whether or not this will stay the same when the really tough opponents are knocking on their door, is yet to be determined, but after 7 rounds played and a 4 to 3 score, it seems they only need to work a bit on removing the rust from their game.

Right now, it is mainly the experience that is winning them the rounds, as opposed to Iuro, who are focusing mainly on delivering a strong aim game with Jente "niZ" Pauwels locking the A bomb site down rather well from spawn. Only when Iuro are doing aggressive pushes, are they able to take down Fragmasters' members right from the start and keep a defensive lockdown on the bombs in a numerical advantageous situation.

As the tables turn, Fragmasters find themselves in a 7 to 5 lead and are playing a two man A defence and especially Randy "sOOSE" Deveijer is the main man blocking Fragmasters' lead. The Brits finally seemed to have found a solution to the perhaps badly structured attacks of the relative mix team and have built up a four round lead to make it 11 to 7.

With matchpoint secured, Tw!st makes an aggressive push to block off the B side and the smg of rzn picks three players off in middle to overthrow the balance and give them a fighting chance still. Not for long, though, as Fragmasters secure the next round rather easily and thus reached the magic 13 rounds.
