AEF: Preview Power Gaming vs Fragmasters

Power Gaming and Fragmasters meet up to see whether or not the Brits have what it takes to end up second in the group and surpass the general expectations prior to the event.

Power Gaming has done well to beat Iuro so convincingly as it gives them the necessary confidence boost to topple the harder teams in their group and avoid a possible SEC repeat. Fragmasters will have to pull something special out of their bag, if they want to gather some extra points here, and make sure they advance as top two and thus meet up with a weaker number three.

Fragmasters is feeling disappointed to have played Crossfire against RAGE.ru, feeling they could have picked up a win on one of the more conventional maps but should still be very satisfied, that they managed to make up four rounds in the end and end up with a draw. Should they do well here, but still lose the match in the end, every round will still count. When both teams end up with the same points, it will probably come down to the round difference and at many LANs before, it has often come down right to the wire.

Power Gaming’s scope has not been able to really impress so far, as he is also experiencing mouse problems. That will definitely play its part when it comes down to a battle between Killzx and paradox, so Power Gaming might do well to avoid maps such as mp_strike and mp_crossfire, where the scope can cut a team’s numbers in the beginning of a round. Furthermore, the Dutch-Czech need to stay calm and not let the Brits pressure them. If Power Gaming tries pushing their advantage right from the start, they could create a gap and avoid having to come back, which I only see them doing with more difficulty.

All in all, Power Gaming should pick this up, but cannot underestimate the British side and needs to be careful of losing out in disadvantageous situations, because that is where their experience should allow them to close out the rounds. In a match like this, each round will count and therefore, any mistake will be given away at a really high cost. Should they stay focused and have their eyes on the ball, they can rest on their laurels with one more match to go.
