H2k Gaming and PGS Gaming square off in a match that might put group E on its head and a surprise finish to the, at times, quite chaotic day of gaming in Antwerp, Belgium.
H2k Gaming would have been dubbed by all the visitors and Call of Duty 4 interesees to win this group singlehandedly, but that they would let points lie around against a team the likes of Anexis, would have been no one's guess.
H2k Gaming became a little bit careless in their first garbage matches, those matches that you know you are going to win, because you are simply at a completely different level. However, the Swedes forgot that the game itself is not that difficult to master and when there is a team of lesser players really playing as a team and having one player perform way above his normal skill level and at the same time, you are more focused on just randomly running around and not really communicating that well, then you have a recipe for early group stage upset.
Which is exactly what happened, and it will probably have served as a wake-up call for the Swedes, that they have to take each game as if it was one of the most important ones out there, focus as a team and simply run the strats they have, as that should suffice against teams of Anexis' level.
PGS Gaming on the other hand did well to beat their closest opponent, iQPAD. If they can get their most vital players, for example Lokacz and r4z0r, to rack in the kills and do their thing best, then they really have a fighting chance. Especially if PGS Gaming manages to get some rounds early in, H2k Gaming will feel the pressure of not cocking up as they did in the Anexis eSports game and that might start to feel like carrying a brick on top of your shoulders around, it will probably force H2k Gaming into a more careful game, with them not taking too many risks anymore and that hands the balance of power over to PGS Gaming and allows them to control the pace of the game, which is not what you want against a team like PGS Gaming.
I am going to risk my money here and put it on PGS Gaming, even though I am a huge fan of H2k Gaming. But should H2k Gaming lose, they can still get far in the bracket, because they are a team that feeds off a bad performance and it will rekindle the hunger they had to win all matches and dominate Europe.
