In the second major upset of the tournament, following yesterday's sudden loss of H2k versus PGS Gaming, Team Derailed has just beaten their British counterparts Team Dignitas.Team Dignitas, one of the tournament favorites after having won the Gamersject LAN 3 in Split, Croatia mid July, were expected to come out on top in Group H, but just faced some unexpected competition from fellow countrymen and tournament underdogs Team Derailed.
Derailed were unintimidated by the Team Dignitas side, who were actually one of the few to defeat tournament favorites fnatic at LAN in this month's Gamersject LAN event. The underdogs tied Dignitas at 9-9 on mp_strike, before walking away with the win: 13-11.
Derailed, who somewhat surprisingly defeated Team Thermaltake with clear numbers (13-5) on mp_crash the round before, look all set to take first first or second place, but could still end up third in case they lose to Team MondialServers in the next round and Team Dignitas beats the French. In that case, there would be a threeway tie and rounds won - rounds lost would determine the final standing.
