In the first major upset of the tournament, German underdogs Anexis eSports have just tied H2k Gaming on mp_crash.The Swedes, ranked second in Europe and seeded third at the Antwerp Esports Festival, came close to losing when Anexis took a 11-8 lead in the second half, only to get back into the game with 4 straight rounds to turn it around: 12-11.
In the final round of the game, it was do or die for Anexis and Christian "
kaTana" Hofman came up big with three frags, topping the scoreboard with 25 frags in total, much to the surprise of the community, as many suspected him of cheating.
On the H2k side Fredrik "
qLimAxzU" Idh was the leading fragger, ahead of Johan "
miRACLE" Gärtner. With matches against PGS Gaming and iQPAD still ahead, the pressure is on for H2k, who are making their first LAN appearance with Roe "
froz" Langaas.
