New to TeK-9 Networks Ltd. are the addition of one day cups that will begin soon for Call of Duty 4. Instead of the usual play and win way that one day cups use, we have added a little twist to make it a little more interesting. We will be running a series of one day cups under the name of TeK-9 Power Cup, giving the whole community a chance from smaller known teams to high-end teams.

A points system has been devised for the standings that teams achieve in these cups. At the end of a series of cups, which will be determined on the amount of interest this project recieves, the top teams standing in the points system will go onto a finals stage where they will battle it out for over 500€ worth of prizes. Below you can find the points system for each cup.
1st Place: 10 Points
2nd Place: 8 Points
3rd - 4th Place: 5 Points
5th - 8th Place: 2 Points
9th - 16th Place: 1 Point
The first cup will take place this Thursday 20 December and will take 16 teams in total. No seedings will be made for the cup, as we will be using the "first come, first serve" option meaning, if you are the first to sign-up for the cup, you will be placed first in the brackets versus the second sign-up etc. You can find the cup setup and schedule with the selected mappool below.
Cup Setup

General: 5v5 Search & Destroy
Maximum Teams: 16
Setup: Single Elimination
PAM Version: PAM4 Beta 3
PAM Mode: Crossfire Rulset
Cup Admins:  sCARFACEEe (Head Admin),  Bocerbo,  nano

Cup Schedule

Round 1: 19:00CET (mp_district)
Quater-Finals: 20:00CET (mp_backlot)
Semi-Finals: 21:00CET (mp_crossfire)
Grand Final: 22:00CET (mp_strike & mp_crash)
Note: Teams are expected to be present at 18:45CET.

Sign-ups will open on Wednesday 19 December at 19:00CET and will close when all cup spots have been filled up. All teams looking to enter must make a new team on our website and have a minimum of five members registered and entered on the team page.

Once you have done this, to enter, all you have to do is PM me via the website or mIRC (tek9|sCARFACEEe @ #tek9) and I will enter your team in the brackets once this has been completed. Any questions or queries regarding the cup, feel free to contact me and too all, good luck and happy fragging!

why not increase it to 32 teams?

We might do this in the future, but first want to test how manageable it is with the current admins. Other than that, if you take one hour for each round, 32 teams would mean the final starts at 12:00 CET, 01:00 in Finland. On a weekday we cannot really expect people to stay up that late when some players might have classes to attend the next day.

This is something we will be reviewing and changes will probably be made, but this will be the first cup and a good test to see how everything goes (and check what the exact interest is).

hope signup dont open on shitty hours :P always open it when the most available people are online, probably during the evening. Seen these kind of problems before in different games when signup starts at 10cet in the morning and only kids skipping school and their teams can sign up directly =)
