For immediate release23rd June 2009 (Geel, Belgium) With the growth of the website of TEK9 into one of the largest portals for Call of Duty related news and coverage, the orientation for the teams and players didn’t fit the overall profile of TEK9 anymore. With this in mind we decided to take the whole team into a completely new direction and with this new direction also comes a new name. TEK9 will continue onwards as your number one Call of Duty and eSports portal and signs a deal with Heaven Media. The teams and players will now be housed in the ANTWERP ACES organization founded by Gamevibes BVBA.
The concept of the Antwerp Aces is very simple. Go local! Antwerp will be the obvious home of

the Antwerp Aces and we will have a club house in the centre of Antwerp as part of
Outpost Antwerp, the LAN centre mostly known internationally for the Outpost on Fire events held there. Outpost will also become a title sponsor of the Antwerp Aces. From this club house, we will organize monthly events at which everyone is welcome: fans, local supporters and gaming enthusiasts alike. These monthly events will be a celebration of gaming, both competitive and casual. Small competitions will be accompanied by beers and food and the release of the latest CHIEF magazine before it even hits the shelves. You will be able to see unreleased footage of new games and the events will also feature a new game release each month, you might even be able to play unreleased games in exclusive preview. All this will be taken care of by our second title sponsor
CHIEF gaming magazine. Expect the first events somewhere in September!
But besides the events the focus is also on the players and the teams representing the Antwerp Aces. We have taken a decision to pick only those players who fit the team perfectly. The players we select to play for the Antwerp Aces are a mix of talented Benelux gamers and good personalities. Although these gamers are considered to be the top of the Benelux, talent alone does not get you selected for the Antwerp Aces. In the weeks before the release of this news the teams, players and management have already become friends and regular meeting in Antwerp will be seen quite often. It’s quite clear that we have gone for local instead of international. All teams and players from TEK9 have come across with us and we also see the addition of a Counter-Strike Source team, a DOTA team and a Trackmania and Quakelive player.
The players and teams will be supported to all Benelux LAN events and we will see them in action for the first time at the EPS Finals in Utrecht. Counter-Strike Source, Counter-Strike 1.6 and FIFA will battle it out to be crowned the best of the Benelux in their discipline.
Statement Sam Janssens, Manager of the Antwerp Aces: “ It’s been a while since we’ve had any good gaming related initiatives in Belgium, but today I present you the Antwerp Aces gaming club. Another gaming team you’ll think, but the Antwerp Aces club is more than that! We will bring you a lot of action starting the fourth quarter of 2009 but more news about that will be published later on. Besides the action you will see the presence of our teams at events across the Benelux and regularly in our clubhouse Outpost in Antwerp where a lot of the action will take place. We will announce regular get-togethers and everyone is welcome to join us in some gaming fun! Besides that we will be backed up by our long time partner and gaming magazine CHIEF to take this new project to the next level. “

good idea^^
Yes it will be quite similar to the Roskilde concept - but of course in our own very special way :)
Picking up a cod4 team now is doomed to fail to be honest and will only slow this good initiative down.
