Following a rather dissapointing performance at the ESWC Masters the beginning of July, placing last in Group C behind mTw, eSTRO, Get2Gev and DCC, Evil Geniuses has suffered another blow, being forced to say goodbye (at least for now) to one of its key players:
evolution.
With evolution going inactive to focus on his studies, Evil Geniuses USA has officially announced the signing of
Nepo, a former makeSHIFT player who until recently played for CEVO-P team Paragon of Virtue.
These changes leave EG USA with the following roster:
chE
NineSpot
steno
n0thing
Nepo
evolution (in-active)
Statement EG Steno, www.myeg.ca: "Nepo and I go back way, before we even knew about Counter-Strike. After about 2 years of me playing the game, I finally showed him what Counter-Strike was and from that day on, I always knew we would eventually play together. Now is that time, and I can say that we are fully ready to take things a step forward with the change. Nepo is on another level when it comes to learning fast, and has an incredible amount of skill and teamwork. He has an extremely similar style of play to our team, and brings a lot more to the table than an average player would."
Statement Alex Garfield, www.myeg.ca: "Scott is universally regarded as one of the best players in North America, and he played a huge part in the team's successes over the past year. His presence will certainly be missed, but we feel that in Nepo, we have the right person to fill he shoes. Nepo's a very quick learner whose style of play fits right in with that of our lineup, and we expect great things from him."
