Following on quickly from the TeK-9 Power Cup #3 which was held on Thursday night, we would like to present the fourth edition of the series, to be played on Sunday 6 January. The third cup saw our very own TeK-9 Call of Duty 4 team, battle their way through the teams that stood in their way throughout the cup. They made it to the finals, and in they end, were able to overcome their opponents eyeshow, on Crossfire to be victorious.
The cup will once again hold 32 teams in total and with the fourth installment in mind, conducted from individual speakings with players throughout the community, we have once again changed the mappool for the cup. From now on, the cup will not consist of five rounds, spanning five maps, but will play five rounds and six maps, with the possibility of seven.
Basically, we have decided to do a standard map setting for the first four rounds, and for the final game, we are allowing both teams to choose their own map. The first team to be victorious on two maps wins the cup, however, if it is a draw situation after the two maps have been played, the game will continue onto a third and final map, which can include overtime if another draw occurs. On that note the third map will be chosen by the team who gains the most rounds during the first two maps. So once again, we present you with the updated mappool for the cup, along with the schedule.
Power Cup #4 - Sunday 6 January
Round 1: 19:00CET (mp_district)
Round 2: 20:00CET (mp_strike)
Round 3: 21:00CET (mp_crash)
Round 4: 22:00CET (mp_vacant)
Final: 23:00CET (one map of choice per team)
Please note, that the final game may prolong a little longer than usual, so if you are not able to be online late to play the final, do not sign-up for the cup. Sign-ups will open tonight (Saturday 5 January) at 21:00CET. To sign-up, simply contact me via our website or on mIRC with a link to your TeK-9 team page and clearly stating you are wanting to sign-up. You can contact me via private messaging on the website, or you can find me in the main TeK-9 mIRC channel, (tek9|sCARFACEEe @ #tek9), and please remember, this is the official mIRC channel for the cup also.
If you are new to signing up for the cup, you can find simple intructions in our coverage section, at TeK-9 Power Cup on the introduction page. With the fourth Power Cup right around the corner, I would like to prompt people to keep on checking the rules and regulations page in our coverage section now and again, as a major refresh of the rules will be done today or tomorrow before the cup.
