TEK9 announces the addition of Riccardo Natalizio. The 20 year old will replace Dimitri van Peer, who left us weeks ago after he lost the motivation to continue.
After the TEK9-organization announced that Dimitri "sFx" van Peer (20) and the Counter-Strike team parted ways on good terms, they didn't start the search for a suitable replacement directly. "After months of practicing with van Peer, he became an integral part on and off the field. To find someone who can replace this loss, we decided that rushing things wasn't an option", said team captain Dries "ciseta" Van Houdt (21).
"We wanted to explore the market and review our options at ease. It's very hard to find someone who is a good player and who can become a good friend", he explains.
Scoping the e-sports market for a rough diamond
Tonight, after venturing into the e-sports market for weeks, TEK9 was ready to announce its new recruit. This became a 20 year old inhabitant of Liège, listening to the name of Riccardo "hutCh" Natilizio. "Riccardo qualifies at all sides, especially social and game wise. We find those aspects important because you spent a lot of time with each other. If it doesn't click on and off the field, you better stop investing time with immediate effect", says Van Houdt.
The Belgian Natalizio, with Italian roots isn't a rough diamond but one of the most succesful players in the Wallon part of Belgium. A clear proof is his time in wise; a well known Belgian gaming team. These guys became, together with Defusekids, a thorn in the Dutch eye at The Party 3 ACON 5 qualifier. The two Belgians teams succeeded to eliminate all Dutch participants and played a shivering and stunning final, in what is still remembered as one of the best clashes in the history of the Benelux.
After a time out and playing Counter-Strike at a lower level, Natalizio found it was time to pick up the weapons yet again. "I feel that I'm ready for a new episode in my gaming life. TEK9 is a great organization and hosts good players with great personalities. It's an honour to become part of this team. I'm really looking forward to a bright future" are the first official words for the new kid on the block.
TEK9 into hibernation
With the final exams coming up, TEK9 Counter-Strike will go into hibernation. "Our last official match is tonight against LowLandLions for the EPS Benelux. We are already qualified for the LAN-finales, so we are glad about our road. On the other hand, we are sad that we can't attend the Acer CS tournament. Sometimes, other things in life are more important. That's a decision you have to take as a team and we decided to give our players space and time to focus on the final exams", concludes the team captain.
