Promod 4.10 released!

Today, the newest addition to the recent series of Promod 4 releases has been unleashed to the community, taking in a wide variety of community feedback to imrpove the the latest public relrease.

Both Jamie 'carlisle' Clifford and Jasdev 'JUSZN' Virdee have been working extremely hard testing the mod, which now features a long awaited cure for the "Backlot car bug".

For addition information, read through JUSZN's post on our forum. For all of the other changes, please read through the changelog below.

DOWNLOAD PROMOD 4.10 (via insidiae.com)


Promod 4.10 Changelog
- Grenade damage radius reduced by 10%
- Improved map visibility
- Removed forcing "FPS" dvar "r_smc_enable 0", smart shader cache is now optional
- Backlot car bug & noise now fixed
- Game physics reduced
- Overall 5-10% FPS increase
- Every map is now less saturation (See Notes)
- Promod version title changed
- SMG's have been rebalanced (Revision 3)
- AK47u increased damage at medium range (Revision 3)
- MP5 'sniping' has been removed
- Improved SMG hitboxes

well, first of all: nice that you keep it up and you try the best with the mod...

but sorry, the new visibility is awful...everything seems to be one color, and on some spots its simply imba...

try to look from corner house on crossfire to cafe you see everyone even through the light...but from cafe you can't see anything

best thing would be to add it to the options, so everyone can choose between oldshool visibility and the new one...

gfx is ok i think i can see a little bit better but i noticed that somthing with hitboxes or reg is messed up realy don't know why or its the lags that you re talking about

I didn't notice any of the lag issues myself but i only played a small bit on pub so not really enough to tell. but i quite liked the colours myself and agree that there should be an option to turn em off as some people don't like em. smg's better and more balanced ide say but i still reckon the scopes are too overpowered =)

damn this promod is failing more and more by the time it comes out more... these so called "Improved map visibility" is bullshit... they make things for me at least much more harder to spot... and i got default configs =/ plus i dont want to play cod4 with cs graphics >_>

else is fine... i dont mind the smg and nade nerfs. In a way they are good, but it just needs a little getting used to.

visibility seems cool to me, but i agree that adding an option to choose the one you prefer would be decent; it'll make everyone satisfied - if it's possible of course.

ps. but please, make the last changes and let us all play and enjoy it for months, cause there is just too much chaos right now ;)

All good except the visuals (map saturation thing). I find the light very annoying, and I cant say it makes anything more visible or better.

After testing this with juszn and a few lads, played all 5 maps, and its got my full support, not too keen on the art configs or w.e for the maps but on some it helps.

And this actually feels like cod4 even with no cook nades unlike DAMN. This is the future of cod4 for sure.

This mod is awesome!

The only thing i really dislike is the visuals. To me it really doesnt help you see much and I think to a spectator it would be horrible.

The whole reason promod 4 started was cos the worst thing in the game with promod 3 was the cooknades. why the hell would they get put back in?

+ the mod is perfect, don't really care about the graphics doesn't make a huge difference and can be easily adjusted to over time + the Smg rebalence is spot on cos they were shit in 4.03 good job <3

The mod is awesome, the fact that the 74 has been nerfed is a godsend. It took me a while to adjust to the visual changes, but once I got used to it it was actually awesome.

The SMG re balance is perfect! About time someone addressed that. :) Love the no nade cooking. Although the lag issue is somewhat frustrating im sure it is being worked on as we speak!

Only thing missing now is some decent recoil, not 5 patterns going randomly through eachother, just the same recoil every time.
Dunno much about modding/coding but if u could just delete the other 4 patterns and keep the one which has the most recoil, that would be nice.

lmao worst example ever! How about 1v5, player takes down 4 goes to plant....gets cook naded...thats why they are taken off, even being a big cook nade whore myself i sayy it makes the game better than it has been previously, and I much rather the changes under promod than DAMN.

fantastic job with this release of promod imo.

The weapons seem very balanced now, I love actually being able to play SMG again and kill people(Whahaat?).

And moreover, I really enjoy the graphic change you imployed in this version. I can see not everyone agrees with that part, but on my computer its amazing, so soothing for the eyes.

And about the cooked nades, well I'd prefer to be able to cook em as well but really I would go with ANYTHING as long as the community can unite. Seriously, it's just so importent for people to get along and make this game the same as it was before (with big lans and G7 teams with CoD teams <3)

What about nerfing all the assaults now since the smg's got worked out? AK47 is like way too overpowered. After assault's u could work out with sniper, it's way too overpowered as well. Imo 3 hits with sniper is enough for kill o_O

I really wonder how nerfing smg's makes this game require more skill. Everybody will just take ak47 then. Wohoo, now the game requires skill. Ak47 is so much harder to shoot with. \o/

And the graphic changes, lol. Does it require eyes to spot an enemy anymore?

Just use promod3. Limit smg's to 2 and take the cooknade off if u want to. That's enough imo.
