This is going to be a bit of a different post as I am gonna do a quick preview of the underdogs for the i37 event.
For i37 we only have three top teams at i37 which are notably
Fnatic,
Team Dignitas and
Team CoolerMaster. But saying that, we do have alot of up and coming teams in attendance, who I feel can cause an upset at this event. Those teams which I will focus on in this preview are as follows are none other than
YoYotech AMD,
Team Infigo,
dfiance and
Team Infused, all of which we here at TEK-9 will be following this weekend.
Team YoYoTech AMD

Chris "chenson" Henson
Reggie "BaTzor" Morgan
James "smithiE" Smith
Ryan "Moff" Moffit
Mark "death" Hardwick

#teamyoyotech
First of all, here we have Team YoYotech AMD, and after the old team were the surprise finalists at i36, this current team have big some rather boots to fill. With this added pressure on the side, this should give them ample motivation to be a top contender at i37. They have a talented team with,
chenson who is an experienced UK LAN player after playing several LANs with team infused, I feel he will take control of this team at i37 and lay down the strats which helped team infused gain a respectable 7-8th finish at i36. Accompanying chenson, we have former Insidiae & Infused player
SmithiE. James is a less experienced LAN player, but has competed at i34, i35, i36 and was also part of the Infused line-up which won the Intel Friday Night Game (part of the EPS UK season). James will motivate the team and with the AK47 will be a main fragger for YoYotech.
We now move onto the Irish duo of
BaTzor and
Moff, these two don't have much experience, but online they have shown they have what it takes. Reg will be taking the scope and is a key player for team YoYotech, lets hope his inexperience of the environment doesn't let him down. Ryan will be using ak74u and will be looking to get under the opponents skin and really open them up.
Lastly, we have
death. He will also be picking up an ak74u and hopefully try to cause the opponent a real problem with his steady aim and cool game sense. The experience from James and Chris will hopefully shine down on their team mates and prove that YoYoTech are a force to be reckoned with for i37.
| Team Infigo |
|
|
|
Marcus "marc" Rohrmann Tom "dAWZn" Dawson Tom "Tommeh" Pinder Ricci "PimP" Lawrence Scott "Scott" Simpson |
| www.team-infigo.co.uk #infigo |
Next on the list we have team infigo, who I believe can finally make themselves known within the Call of Duty scene.
To start with we have the main player of the team, and that is ofcourse
PimP. Ricci will be scoping for Infigo and will be able to get the main picks for the team and is renowned for being able to clutch in any situation, so expect a few 30 bombs from this guy.
We now move onto
marc and
dAWZn. These two have played together since i35 and also the both of them merced for PMS (now infused Female) which put out Sidney "9mm" Klinker's team at i36 (Unlucky Sidders!). These two are a proper partnership with Tom rushing forward, opening up the round with the ak74u as well as also motivating the team while staying chilled at vital moments. Marc on the other hand sits back and covers Tom in that all important ak47 role.
Finally we have
Scott and
Tommeh. I haven't personally heard much about these two but I have specced them a few times, they certainly have the talent to perform at a top level. These two will be out to prove a point at i37.
I caught up with Marcus "marc" Rohrmann of Team Infigo for a quick chat about i37.
Hello Marc, thanks for joining me. Could you please introduce yourself to our viewers?
"Hey wiziniUm, my names Marcus "marc" Rohrmann, I am 19 years old and play for Team infigo and the lineup is myself, dawz, tommeh, rik and scott."
Are you looking forward to i37?
"Yes, i think we all are. We haven't competed in a LAN event since i35 and we are all looking forward to seeing each other again and we hope to see a good performance."
I have placed you in the the underdog section or "team to watch out for". Do you think this is a fair assumption?
"I agree with your assumption as we are not a known team so we are happy to be classed as "underdogs". We have caused some upsets online so far and hopefully we will cause more offline."
Do you feel your team have prepared well for i37? What have you done to prepare?
"I feel we are prepared as we have had a pretty much stable lineup for a while now, EAS was where we got most of your strats down and doing that resulted in qualifying for EPS next season so we are happy our strats are effective. Recently we have just been getting pre.invite games to keep on top of our aims and basic strats as we don't want to give away too much ;)"
Who do you feel is your main player and why?
"This is a hard one because we all contribute evenly ingame but if i had to pick one person it would have to be PimP aka. riK as he has just got a natural talent for games and ties all the lose ends for us. Hes a legend really!!"
Do you feel any team will cause an upset at i37?
"I think the "underdogs" you have mentioned will all pull something out the bag, but again, if i had to chose one team i would say infused because i know that stokie legend Vae can pull off some magic along side ono and the rest!"
Can you predict a top 5?
"I'd like to see: TCM, Dignitas, Infused, Fnatic & YYT.NL"
Any last shoutouts?
"Shoutouts to all of infigo, Asuka the i36 rifle buddy <3, blair, hazeh, 9mm and his brow, sex and his crew, and of course YOU WIZINIUUM xxx"

Jake "Jakey" Crozier Ryan "ERASUS" Williams Louis "evz" Evans Chris "Alpha" Bald Alex "redblaze" Pattenden |
| www.dfiance.org #dfiance |
Now we have Dfiance, the home of the TEK9 forum legend Ryan Williams. This team have been together for a few months now and have been practising a lot, and I really do feel this team could do well at i37.
Firstly, we have Dfiance's troublesome threesome,
Jakey,
ERASUS and
evz. These three have been playing together since i35 and evz and ERASUS have even had a past back in Call of Duty 2. Jake will be rushing into the bomb sites with ERARUS using the ferocious ak74u. These two will be working together to dispose of the opponent around the bomb. Louis will be chipping in with the ak47 taking down the players who are anti-rushing and causing a problem for his teammates.
The two players we have left are
redblaze and
Alpha. Alex will be taking the scope and getting those vital picks to open up the round (and personally I believe is the 'player to watch' for the team) as will Chris with that ak47. This team has the right attitude and will hopefully go far at i37.
| Team Infused |
|
|
|
Leonidas "killzx" Kyrkos Ben "bAc" Coppard Myles "myzz" Cahill Dan "VAE" Ball David "ono" McConnell |
| www.team-infused.com #infused |
Lastly, we have Team Infused. Some people may disagree with me about putting them in the underdog section but after a dissapointing The-eXperience 2009, I feel they have a point to prove at i37. I think everyone knows who these players are and what they are capable of, but I shall give you a quick run down anyway.
Firstly, we have two scopes which are
ono and
killzx, both of which take it in turns on the scope depending on which map is being played.
Next, we have one main AK player
myzz, who had a somewhat weak performance in Denmark, but will surely be looking to retain his pride following his i36 finalist position.
The rest of the team rotates depending on again on what map it is. We have a single SMG player in the shape of former zeroPoint! & TheImperial member,
bAc, who is commonly accompanied by "the most energetic gamer in the planet"
VAE.
This team is clearly very talented, and I dont know what went wrong with them at The-eXperience. Maybe it was due to it being their first lan together? What I do know is that they are really motivated to do well at i37, and with the backing from the Infused management, they should have the confidence going into the tournament to pull that off.
I wish all the teams attending i37 the best of luck and I shall see you all tomorrow!
