LowLandLions took the lead in the group, after they won the first match of the tournament against TEK9 Networks with the smallest margin.

After the delay – because of the reschedule due to XIOP’s absence – the crowd was ready for the first match at the Belgian ESWC tournament. And….what a match! At first instance, it looked like a slack show but it became even a real thriller after a comeback from TEK9.

Let’s go to the beginning. Knife round was won by the lions and they chose to start at T-side; seen as the better side to go into battle and to crank up your mental game. Immediately, they proved and showed that with the addition of Karel Jannes (Bax) and Nordien De Jong (minto) their force has increased; giving the first round away after they took the first eleven rounds. Luckily for them, TEK9 managed to take the other four rounds to reappear - in a reassured condition  - on stage for the second side; giving some space to breath if they would lose the second pistol round.

At the second side, TEK9 managed to take that crucial round and continued their winning streak to a six to zero lead before the LowLandLions could take their first round. From that moment, the tension raised in both camps as TEK9 couldn’t afford to lose more rounds and LowLandLions could sniff the victory after their strong t-side. At the end, the victory went to LowLandLions in the last round; showing that these two forces are competitors in the purest form.
