It's official, Electronic Sports World Cup is back home on its seventh season. The 2009 Grand Final will be in Paris Bercy, the same venue that served as the background for both ESWC 2006 Grand Final and more recently, ESWC Masters of Paris 2008, two great events that will surely be on everyone's memories for a long time.

Just one month after the 2008 Grand Final, the ESWC Organizing Committee has decided to release the venue and date of 2009 Grand Final. From June 26th to 28th, champions from over 50 countries will be in Paris to fight for the gold medal on their discipline and be crowned World Champions.

ESWC Masters of Paris 2008

The new season, 7th, will officialy start in Athens during the Athens Digital Week, a technological and digital entertainment show that will host the ESWC Masters of Athens 2008. A $30,000 event that will feature two official tournaments, Warcraft 3 and Quake 3 Arena were the chosen ones among the list of official games so far.

Bercy is one of the most beautiful venues used so far by ESWC, the 2006 event was a great evolution and left some great memories to those attending, visiting or just following it from home through the online e-sports press. Most recently, the Masters of Paris 2008 featured another awesome environment with several side activities, a huge stage and a massive crowd of spectators willing to see their favorites win the World Champion title.

ESWC 2006 Grand Final

How 2009 Grand Final will be, the structure, stage, activities, complete list of official tournaments and much more, we will know as time goes on. There are still 9 months to go, national qualifiers to be held in more than 50 countries and a few Masters events around the world left for what probably will be one of the greatest events of 2009.
