In a surprising move Team Druidz has just announced the release of three of its main starters, leaving them with only two members: Overkill and MickStah. After attending The Experience one and half week ago, Druidz has been forced to say goodbye to
Phunk, who will be leaving the team to focus on his career as a professional Rugby player, playing for the Swedish National team and Nordic champions Enköping.
Next to Phunk, Druidz has decided to say goodbye to the team's most recent recruit
Mumma (ex-Grindhouse) and
H@nn@, who had been a part of Druidz for more than a year. The main reason for this sudden split are the team's disappointing 13-16th place at The Experience in Roskilde, Denmark and not achieving the goals the team had set before the summer.
Although the team need three more players to complete its roster, Druidz is expected to announce its renewed line-up as early as next week.
Overkill
MickStah
Statement H@nn@: "I want to thank Druidz for this time, it have been great and ive developed as a player so much during this time. But its time to move on and im searching for a serious LANable team that can perform. I wish the new Druidz good luck in future lans!"
Statement Phunk: "Where should I start.. I tried to "quit" gaming late 2006 to play Rugby and get fit obviously, 2 years has passed and I thought I could pick up gaming again and what perfect timing wasn't it to start play Call of Duty 4 when it released
late last year, I bought the game exactly 7th of March.
I never thought I would be decent at the game but it turned out I actually could kill and adapt to the new style of the game, fast paised action with with modern warfare weapons etc etc, was fun! And when I joined Druidz a couple of months ago I had already stopped gaming just because of Rugby, had no time to play the game but than I got injured in a Rugby match, stretched ligament and a broken rib + I was sick for 6 weeks, so I had about 2 months to play properly everynight and become better and better..
Eventually I got better and I could play Rugby again, but than something else came up, I got the call from the Swedish national squad and Swedish champions to start playing for them.. can you believe it? I did some trials for Sweden and I was accepted to the squad GREAT, and for the Swedish champs I've already won Nordic Championship already with.. not a bad year full of injuries right? Hehe.. so all-in-all the decision that I make to stop gaming totally was mainly because I now have loads of oppertunity to get better in Rugby but also that I don't want to be the person I was 3 years ago, kids.. don't waste your life on games! ;) Games are great though, but don't waste your life. :)
Had a great time with Druidz and Zero Empathy the 2 clans I played with in CoD4, shoutouts to spence, miracLe, voodoo, soose, dannnezzz, Mumma, rivve, Hanna, overkill, mickStah, Bleffex, cl1nk, Metric (greatest guy there is) and all the friends I've made in this short time of 6 months playing Call of Duty 4, end of a big ass chapter, lat00rrr! :)"
