In just one and half week from now TEK9's very own FIFA player  Andries Smit will be looking to defend his title at the FIWC Grand Final Saturday the 24th of May 2008 at Berlin's Sony Center in Germany.

Andries will be travelling to Berlin next week and will be taking on 31 of the best players from all across the globe in a thrilling single elimination tournament, with $20,000 and an all expenses paid trip to attend the FIFA World Player Gala 2008 up for grabs.

Teammate and practise buddy Vijay Mitrasing will unfortunately not be joining Andries in the Grand Finals. Vijay qualified for the FIWC UK Finals back in March, winning the qualifier at the Wembley Stadium over Jeanplu. Flying over to Manchester the 15th of April in an attempt to qualify for the FIWC Grand Final in Berlin, Vijay's luck unfortunately quickly ran out, as he was quickly eliminated from the tournament after a 1-2 loss against local player Ben in the first round.

Andries will be joining the following 31 players in the FIWC Grand Final:

 Bjorn Diedricks
 Abubakr Ebrahim Akhalwaya
