ASUS Summer to feature CoD4 competition

Over at the Russian communitysite Cyberfight.org the ASUS Summer organisers have announced two new games that have been added to the gamelist of Russia's most prestigious gaming event.

These two games are none other than Call of Duty 4 and Team Fortress 2, both featuring a prizepot of 75 000 roubles, an estimated 3,255$.

This year's ASUS Summer will be taking place in the last two weekends of August, 23-24 and 30-31 August 2008 in two of leading gaming center's in Russia, 4GAME and Click-Net in Moscow.

The newly added Call of Duty 4 competition will be taking place in the first weekend, kicking off the 23rd of August at the Click-Net center with a maximum of 32 teams  competing. Registrations will be open to anyone and start in one week from now, the 23rd of July.

The games:
Counter-Strike 1.6 5v5 Masters – 375 000 roubles (16,278$)
Сounter-Strike 1.6 5v5 Open – 150 000 roubles (6,511$)
Warcraft 3 DOTA 5v5 Open – 150 000 roubles (6,511$)
Team Fortress 2 Team Open – 75 000 roubles (3,255$)
Сall of Duty 4 Team Open – 75 000 roubles (3,255$)
Starcraft: Bw Team Open – 75 000 roubles (3,255$)
Warcraft 3 TFT Team Open – 75 000 roubles (3,255$)
ASUS MOSCOW Spring CS 1.6 Masters Qualifier - 25 000 roubles (1085$)

Geographically speaking there aren't many eastern european contries out there. And tbh it would cost much more to travel and stay in Moscow then going to Antwerp. Also they're announcing a LAN in August when we're near the end of July.
Tbh bad organisation, prolly only russian teams will attend since you need a passport and visa to travel there.

not really as it is extremely expensive to travel to moscow and stay in a hotel there.

It is located some 30 km from the Chinese border (thx to Wiki).
Now thats a nice LAN, might aswell visit Mongolia or Japan while going to that lan :D
