Maybe a bit of a long shot asking Tek9 but:
I'm just wondering if any of you (non-US citizens) have ever worked in the USA?
Been searching around all the different work visas and I can't find one that looks suitable for me.
So yeah anyone with experience or knowledge lemme know and I'll add you somewhere and we can chat.
Thanks
Where did you stay when you were there?
Then met my girlfriend and we go back and forth now.
Right now it looks like I'm heading to NYC but we'll see, could change. Like the idea of a wee small-town in the mid-west just that all the internships/courses I'm interested in are in the bigger cities.
Id say head to the north or west of the country.. sort of stay away from the south except the obvious like Florida they dont like foreigners at all down there..
If you need some help.. throw us a pm!
And aye I'm not really planning any Top Gear style drives through redneck towns tbh but cheers for the heads-up.
And thanks man, I'll probably take you up on that!
go jerk off
(its nearly as bad as a mail order bride XD)
fair enough most people on here will be forever a virgin, but still... around the world? :D
but in essence, thats what it boils down to chootie... you must both have some issues to be willing to date someone who lives on the other side of the planet
anyway, what does someone on the other side of the planet offer you, that you could not got from somone local?
im guessing it was just easier to get to know her online huh
you never really stated that you didnt talk to her online prior to meeting
also you dodged my other question :<
ALSO, this reminds me of that guy who went to sweden to marry that bird he met on WoW (afaik he hadnt met her before he proposed?). man that shit was cash
anyway, my cousin lives in new jersey, been over to new york a few times, dont think i could work there though, but gl

Oh cool, why don't you think you could work there? That's what I'm hearing from a few people that have visited actually. Only booked a one way ticket though so if it's not for me it's open to come home whenever.
live near dalcross airpot m8, you hearing that thunder lol?
probably best to stay somewhere in new jersey, alot cheaper cost of living, plus its only like short trip in a boat to nyc

5 Month thing but only work for 3 so get 2 months to do whatever with the money I'm paid and they provide free travel for the time you're not working.
Plan to move out there someday but it's probably the longest process thing I've ever seen.
Any more advice though guys, feel free to let me know! :)
And yeahh, that thunder's ridiculous - was pretty nice earlier though

But if you're into skating at all, I could show you around.
Rock climbing and downhill/trail biking are more my sort of thing.
Will have to sort out some contact info closer to the time, would be nice to turn up in a city of millions knowing at least one person.

Have to take medicals/drugs and other tests before it's granted as well.
Another long shot and probably no solid answer, but does anyone here know how long after smoking traces of THC can be picked up in a urine sample?
googled it
"THC is non-existent in urine, when screening for urine it is only the metabolites and byproducts of the drug that are tested for. For a frequent user, the substance may stay in the system up to 40 days after abstaining from use of cannabis or cannabis containing substances. For seldom users, the detection period is from 2-10 days. The metabolites and THC are stored in fat, so the less fat you consume and the more fat you burn, the faster the drug will decrease in content.

Anyway, useful for me since if he's clean then I pretty much definitely will be too.

Wonder if I'll be eligible for taxing as a temporary worker?
Looking promising!
I can live and work there. Although, I won't be able to apply for citizenship until I've lived their for more then 4 years.
America's going to be one of my options, I might consider finding a job out there mid 30s.
Feel free to reply in Swedish if it's easier, pretty fluent in it.
Hopefully mine'll be ready before I leave.
Mate's in Calgary, Canada for the season this year though, hoping to be able to find time to go up and meet him, get some decent boarding in.
11 weeks! (:
