Hey everyone,
so as the title says this is a post for UK citizens, however i guess others could use the information if they plan on moving to the UK.
I just wanted to make you all aware SCAM run by a company called 'Careerjobsuk'.
Long story short, i am currently looking for a new job in the IT industry as i am relocating very soon. I did the usual which is sign up to the useful job searching sites:
totaljobs
reed
Whilst on these website i have been applying for a whole host of jobs and oppurtunities.
This is where the warning comes in.
***READ CAREFULLY***
When applying for jobs on such websites your personal details such as email and perhaps telephone number can be made public (if you so choose so) and due to this it allowed this company 'careerjobsuk' to contact me, they initially contacted me via email explaining they wanted to interview me for a IT Engineer role, so i was like cool i need a job lets go.
I responded to accept the interview, at which point they rang my mobile, their telephone number is as follows:
02032530108
The interview they undertake is a web/phone based one in which you do a standard interview etc etc. now this is the cheeky bit. they state that any successful candidates are given a training program to gain relevant industry qualifications which for training costs them £4200. Thats fairly realistic so i was even more interested at this point.
HOWEVER!!!
The next part they then go on to explain that just so you can show your commited you have to pay £79 a month for the training to show your dedication. After you training is complete they can garantee you a job.
This is the scam. They take over 12months £948 of your money. And guys they cant garantee you a job its all a big scam.
I fortunately did some research during my interview after i heard about the £79 a month thing as i thought it sounded weird, but i just wanted to make all you guys who are looking to get into IT aware of this elaborate scam.
TL:DR VERSION:
Avoid a company called 'careerjobsuk' they are taking vunerable job hunters and effectively stealing their money. For full info on how read the story above.
Kind Regards,
Alex

But yeah sucks man, not any form of legal action you can take?
Hope as many people as possible read this and avoid it in the future.
best of luck to all the job hunters though :)
And these are saying after a mere year they can guarantee you a job....
How the hell can people fall for that. You would have to be thick as fuck
So you go to study Law for 4 years. And there is an average joe office boy working in a law firm. Who do you think has the better career possibilities?
It isn't naive at all. Yes companies like experience. But if you don't have any qualifications in that field it's questionable where that experience came from
And these are saying after a mere year they can guarantee you a job....

When your desperate for work pal and you need a job, you loose sense of what is normal etc its playing on the insecurities of the jobless.
I must admit i'm not actually jobless, i'm working part-time just to pay the bills until something better comes up.
Surely though as soon as you see you have to pay for it alarm bells would start ringing.
but as i said i just wanted to warn everyone, as i was nearly caught, dont want others to get done by this. if you think someone would have to be stupid to do it you may be right, but ehy rather they read it here then jump in the trap :)

In my mind you'd have to be deluded to fall for a scam like this. But i guess that's just because i take all precautions with stuff like this and do my research. As you rightly did yourself too
intentions are only good.
and hey maybe i can keep looking around and getting more info for people job wise and keep this thread updated regularly to make sure people avoid these traps. No hardship on me when i have some free time at work.
