New ISP

Posted by United Kingdom inspiredroux on 2010-03-13 17:57:29
Need a new ISP because I am sick of having lag on Virgin.
Been told that it should be fixed by the end of March but I don't believe them.

I've looked into the BT unlimited package, but I'm not too impressed.

- £36 a month upto 20mb (estimated in my area 4mb) including phoneline
- £124.99 for line setup

Would prefere not to have a BT phoneline because of the installation fee.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance ^^

www.ispreview.co.uk/ hf mate.
when i had virgin's ADSL in my last address i did a bit of research there and found myself a good isp who guaranteed low pings.
"Aquiss" was the name, they only had 1month contract(no 1year+ bullshit from big companies).
i think u should do a bit of research about all the ISP's u got available in ur area in that site.. u might find out a decent one.

i hv virginmedia 50mb fibre(its the only thing virgin has that is worth it).

I never had a problem with BT.

Great ping, 6mbit. Was about as good as ADSL gets in UK.

Mind you I am only like 200/300 meters from the exchange.

That's not too bad. I live 1 mile from my exchange and get 7.5 Mbit. I guess the quality of your line also plays a pretty big part then...
