You're a retard for sure. Most likely if you donated your keyboard to Africa they could use it for their first nature source of water after the amount of dribble iis coming out of your mouth at this moment.
mmm not really, HoN was meant to be a copy of dota. LoL is a copy of neither of them, except to the extent to which it can be described as existing in the same genre of games. They took the basic premise but made a totally different game in many ways. I don't enjoy LoL but I do think it has done enough differently not to be referred to as a crap copy of dota. I mean....if it was...then LoL players wouldn't be completely crap at dota :DDDDD
LoL is copy of DotA but they made it so easy and added some parts from WoW like the "talent tree" system its basically from WoW as the one of the LoL:s creators was working in blizzard
in the attempt to make it 'so easy' they did in fact produce a game that is completely different to dota. At face value it looks like a copy of dota but at no point was it supposed to BE a copy of dota, it simply falls under the same genre. Unless you class that as a copy, in which case we're playing a copy of doom.
I suppose my point is that it is a derivative rather than a copy, a copy is meant to replicate the original, a derivative takes things from the original and does different things with them. Which is exactly what LoL has done. And I don't care about your silly points regarding the team that comprised the LoL creation group. I'm not discussing who made it, I'm talking about what they made.
if theres 3 lanes one playable hero for each player + NPC monsters on each side and neutral NPC creeps its copy of dota. even tho riot has came up with their new maps and stuff but the regular map is perfect copy from DotA
there is a point at which you need to stop considering a new addition to a genre to be a copy of the original. I don't even know for sure that dota is the original member of this school of games, but even if it is, not every single game that follows it can be considered a copy of it. CoD4 is not a copy of Doom. LoL changed enough of the game experience for it to be considered a separate entity, and one that appeals to the casual market far far far better. And since you were talking about the people that made it, allow me to mention that 2 of the makers of LoL were an integral part of the birth and growth of DotA. Does that mean they copied their own work? Or furthered it.
guisoo is only one who was creating the dota allstars but he left and the present version was made by icefrog and if you say LoL is not copy of DotA you either havent played LoL or you havent played DotA since you dont understand that the idea in both games is the same and that the map was one main thing what separated WC3 from DotA. And the game experience in LoL is basically same since you got one champion with 4 spells and your objective in normal game is to destroy other teams base. Same as in DotA. With money you can buy items and you get money from NPC's or hero kills. Same as in DotA. LoL got their talent tree for champions and thats what they actually copied from WoW.
you cant say that theres a big difference in those trees they are almost the same with same principle. So basically LoL is a hybrid between DotA and WoW where you can change ur champion through the talent system but the meta game and the main objective in both games is the same. Farm gold, buy items, destroy ur enemies nexus or what ever it is.
You clearly just disagree with me on the meaning of 'copy' in this situation, and no more is to be garnered from arguing about it. I have played both games, dota more extensively than LoL but nonetheless I know what I'm talking about. But fine, call it a copy, I wouldn't call it a copy because it is different enough in gameplay to be considered a totally different experience. Sure, they are cosmetically similar, but anyone that has played both will say they are significantly different games to play. I wouldn't call it a copy, you would, I'm bored of this conversation because it isn't going anywhere. lates.
