Video Card Question

I've had my XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card for about 3-4 months but not happy with it tbh.

I wasnt sure what's better though buying 2 9800GT 512MB or buying 1 260GTX 896MB

	5850 or another 5770 i guess are your best option if your not happy

	I might look at getting another 5770 with what's been said so far as i was looking at spending out £120 anyway.

	that's a good idea (since the performance gains scale extremely well), but you should absolutely positively be getting 250 with that card(obviously not in smoke, but not like you're going to be sitting in smokes 24/7) :S

	I wasn't sure cos I'm running quad core process with 4GB ram and with the 5770 and my FPS is crap it never sits at 250FPS always bounces :/

	Make sure you have adequate cooling first. I have a friend with an i7 920, 6gb ddr3, and a 5770 and he gets 250. What are you temps when you game?

	I don't understand why you not happy it's better than my XFX 4890 and i get constant 250 playing on 1920 x 1080 and all high gfx?

	play the game instead of worrying about 2 or 3 fps difference the best command i can recommend you is cg_drawfps 0

	this is the thing its not 2/3 fps it will drop about 70 fps even when nothing is happening :/

	have a look at drivers for it, look at your cfg tweak it for fps, re install the 5770.

	well gar3thz i get pretty solid 250 on my 5770 with a i5 750 on a 1920 x 1080 res so something to think about i hope edited 2010-09-03 16:50:26

	To be honest I didn't think it was the card. I've just got in from work and formatted my pc got rid of vista and put win7 on. So going to got to ATI's site & Mircosoft to get the latest Direct X drivers and go from there.

	A 5770 is around a 4870/4890 level, that's more than enough for 250 on modest settings. If you're not getting it, it's not a fault with the card. Could be drivers/cpu speed/screwed directx/lotsofotherreasons.
