Can i run cod4 promod on high settings?

Hello guysss!

I'm playing a lot of Call of duty 4 promod and i'm going to buy a new laptop. Can someone help me?!

I was looking at this one:

1. Will i get a steady 250 FPS?
2. Can i play any game i want on high/med/low settings?

I'm a bit confused about all those different laptops, brands, models, videocards and stuff..

	U will be able to run games like bf3 and all the newest but you wont get 250 stable in cod4. Even on lowest res it would still fluctuate and not be stable.

	hd4870 q6600 2gb ram 1280*1024 2xAA i get 250 stable go figure :)

	yea but its laptop. hd is slower and motherboard is different and screen is 60hz only and it probably has integrated graphics + nvidia which fucks it up even more

	The 540M is probably on par with something like an 8600GTS for desktop. So i wouldn't be expecting an awful lot from it to be honest

	But what is the problem? It's not the processor or the RAM.. Is only that videocard the problem? And what kind of laptop do you recommend? This laptop is only €669,- / About 800 pounds Many thanks!

	ive got a 5750G with an i5 and the same card and i get 125 rock solid and 250 in most places. if you want 250 constant a desktop is the way to go without breaking your bank account into multiple pieces.

	Yehh the point is, my parents are divorced, so i take my laptop to my dad and then to my mom.. Thats why i chose for buying a laptop. I didn't buy that laptop yet, but i can't figure out which is the best for me.. What about this one: HP dv6-6b70ed i7-2670QM Processor 6GB Ram AMD Radeon HD 6490 1GB Same problem i think?

	Memory Bus Width is 64 Bit. So yes it's utter crap

	The graphics card is terrible. You obviously haven't done your research. You want something like a 280M or 560M and above to get good frame rates. I have no idea about the AMD/ATI moile cards, so i can't make a comment on those

	You need to give a budget otherwise people can't help you properly. I bought this one a week ago and it gives me 250fps constant apart from on Backlot. If you're NL: notebookshop.nl/notebooks/msi/525286/msi-gt683dxr-617nl.html? Cost me 1355euros. The only downside is the 15inch screen but its good if you need to be mobile.

	Nice choice nreo. MSI are probably the way to go for gaming laptops. However i have seen them for alot cheaper than that in the U.K. But it may have been an i5 not an i7. I'll have to see if i can find it again

	I'd like to see you find that version cheaper :) I spent quite some time looking and waiting for the price to go down. The i5 version is cheaper... so that's probably the one you remember. edited 2012-01-18 02:11:59

	Well, let's say a max of €800,- But what's more important? The processor or the videocard? Because you will get 250 steady with a i5 and a good videocard en less then 250 FPS with a i7 and a worse videocard..

	Well obviously the gpu which is the biggest problem in laptops cuz of size and overheating. Any core2duo can handle 250fps its just the gpu... And all laptops today have iSeries so its just the gpu
