Ok guys, we at VitaNova have been working hard on promoting Call of Duty 4. We have not only been working on European promotion, but also global promotion. Right now we are working on our Asian development and the WCG Malaysia was mentioned.
It is far from certain that we will have COD4 there as a main game, but we are trying to make it a side event. The side event is not confirmed either.
What I want to do with this topic is to gain interest from teams and organisations. Keep in mind that the flights there are not cheap. You can take a look at flights on
booking.airasia.com.
This is not a joke and we are really devoting our time and effort to get this sorted. This would be the first WCG event for COD4 and which orga would not want that title added to their trophy case.
Hopefully organisations like fnatic can go there. And I wish them GL. :)
Anyway, good initiative kleineman, as always. <3

Our Malaysian representatives of VitaNova are working hard to get communications going with Australia and other Asian countries.
The CIC7 Malaysian event had 19 COD4 teams if I am not mistaken. If those 19 would attend with the addition of a couple European, Australian and perhaps American teams then you could have an awesome event.
fnatic should.
dignitas should.
those are the biggest orga's, am I right?
Yeah I do. They support you guys in being gay
abit expensive :/
you need 3480 to comeback! :P
great work
And If I'm not mistaken, qualifications are done continentally not nationally. As for cs 1.6 I think there were 12 teams who qualified to main event so...? Correct me if I'm wrong tho.
EDIT: okay, I was wrong, CS 1.6 had 37 teams at the event. But yeah, everything is a plus and getting CoD 4 there would surely make IEM take a look at it as well, especially since we made the ESL move finally come true :D

Samsung is WCG
thats why they have carom3d
<3 Activision
List of the teams for 1.6 event. Check those countries and teams, I suppose not all of them have support, so I'll be guessing that once you qualify you get a small prize stimulans to help you travel all over the world? :D
Let's say NA has 4 teams to attend, Europe 4, Africa 4, Asia 4.
19 teams in Malaysian cic7 so asia's 4 won't be a problem. For Africa, south african republic had some famous LANs etc so I suppose 4 from there wouldn't be a problem either. 4 from Europe, no questions there. And as for NA, Legends, Loaded and the other couple of teams who did well on Nerv3 LAN I suppose?
Should be nice amount, 16 teams for a side tournament, something for bigger organisations to have a look at.

winner of the quali in your contry gets the trip fully paid and license paid by WCG
no.... just no
A lot is still up in the air. Malaysia -may- host WCG finals in 2011, and yes, the finals this year 2010 are in LA. What's happening is the WCG regional qualifiers in Malaysia (which in its own right is quite a large event) has the potential to host a CoD4 side event (or main event, who knows) due to knowing people who know people who know people who know people, etc.
It's definitely an opportunity to explore because
1) Asia (or Malaysia at least) has been looking for more big LANs at internationally recognized events - we saw none of this last year although this year started off good with CIC7.my getting some spotlight
2) Vita Nova has been working to get COD4 represented in some well-known international events. Even if it's not a main event with mainstage finals etc, it's still a huge start and if run well could only pave the way for better connections in future.

Huh? HUH??
It doesnt necessarily mean that EU should fly over to support it, because of the cost. But what i think is, if every country that had a national finals pitched for COD4 to be in their WCG, it could start being a huge thing for all of us. Malaysia would be a small, tiny start to spark that interest, but every country will need to follow through.
Just by saying, "Malaysia did it, and they had xxxxx amount of teams! I can gurantee xxxx will turn up here! + stats from previous events etc etc"
SO why not, instead of COMPLAINING about air tickets(you cant change them), you formulate something that will eventually bring you to the grand finals in whereever in the next WCG for free? (this you can do)
These guys are here to make things sure for the future, and you're being a prick.

Cruise ship to Malaysia: £4,489 (13 day arrival time)
I just don't think many people will be able to afford cruiseships.
Then u still got hotel and food and sunglasses and a machete to stop you getting robbed by some guy that looks like a lizard wearing fake tan and Bruce Forsyth wig.

If this is a country representation based event, which country would for example Power Gaming be representing?
The org is UK based (if im not mistaken) and it has 2 dutch and 3 czech players. I can imagine Power gaming be one of the teams that are able to cough up the support.
