I've decided to make this thread to help new players/teams get into competitive COD4. I know Im not "pro" myself or anything but hopefully it can serve as a place where people can find what they need all in one place :)

COD4 Patcher and Launcher

Channels

The private IRC channels are used by teams to look for games above the skill level of #cod4.wars. There are four channels that are used and you need to apply to gain access.

#cod.start - Any team can apply for the channel and is a good way to get some match experience.

#cod.academy - The channel above #cod4.start and results here are used to apply for preinvite.

#cod.preinvite - The channel above academy. The skill level is higher and matches here are used to practice for LAN events and tournaments.

#cod.invite - An invitation only channel and home of the best teams in COD4. (You cannot apply for this channel!)
