A lot of those maps are good, but have fucked up bomb spots. Borisovska for instance has been a good map in COD2 but always lacked good bomb positions.
mp_i2 probably has the most potential out of the "NEW" maps. It's bomb spots are nog ideal either and battle takes place on the ground and on rooftops. This map does have the most potential for sure.
I like the look of these maps, especially borisbeta, I dont think agroprom can be played though as its really big and open, tried it before. wouldnt enjoy that for competiton, but as others said that i2 map looks cool wouldnt mind trying it out. could work.

how do we know which maps we are going to play... who will decide?
well how many people make promod? exactly. and that serves the community just fine. im sure this could be a similar method with a few 'recognised name' beta testers..

erm, ive played a number of these custom maps and i dont think any of them are suited to competitive play.
Need someone like kleineman to actually create a map specifically for competitive play.
Just like CS with their custom maps; dust2/cpl_mill/cbble.
These maps were designed specifically for competitive games by the CS competitive community of that time.
Kleineman did a great job with mp_vallente in CoD2 and it was used for LAN and proved to be a great map to play on at LAN.

Yea ofcourse, but there isn't many, so what we need to do to move forward is what Karl is saying. We need a few map creators to actually create maps with the competitive side as priority, rather than creating a huge fucker with alot of crap litterd about it.
maybe its an idea to create an XFIRE group for Tek9 custom map pcw's or sommit? so we all know who to come to?:).
An admin should create it really, that way we could be united under somebody we know instead of some random player.

hey guy, i have downloaded a map, i made a folder "usermaps", put the folder of my map in it and when i load a map using promodlive204, my game crashes...
i2 map is great,it has an cross which snipers can dominate,if u dont want to get dominated smoke the cross,u can go B which is far more simple,enjoy :)

i just tested mp_nuke and agroprom...it looks like pipeline, to big for cod4 -_-.
This mp_i2 has so many ways to "go" and there would be alot "backfucking" and shitty timing would take effect.
EDIT:Just played i2 map ... i think this meant to be a ZOMBIE mod map and its shiat
