Intel have been absolutely dominating AMD since the release of the Core2 (Conroe) chips, which were released in 06.
But what i've seen on sites Intel I7 is getting better recommandation.
Basically, it doesn't have L3 cache, Phenom II has it.
You have some Athlon II CPUs with Deneb core(Phenom II core), but with locked L3 cache, and some are with Athlon II core, but it doesn't make a difference.
Phenom II > Athlon II, but in a few frames and you won't probably notice unless you are cumming on every fps :)
I think it is a good chip for a good price.
Best you can do is to google and see some tests with that CPU, and compare it with different CPUs
