help required with settings

I got the siberia in ear plugs... sound is great, everything is clear and very loud but the problem is that during gun fights its near impossible to hear anything else... my old phones enabled me to at least hear a bit in the surroundings during gun fights...... :S

is there anything i can do with my realtek equaliser? maybe tone down the gun sounds a bit . :S help
