As opposed to normal cod4 sprinting (hit key once to start sprinting, again to stop), is there a way to make it so that when I let go of my sprint key I stop sprinting?
Double tap switch weapons, you'll won't necessarily stop running immediately but you'll be able to shoot. Same applies for being able to shoot as soon as possible when you've jumped.
Well I assumed that his problem was getting killed a lot while running and that he may have wanted a solution to being able to stop running quickly enough to be able to shoot back or kill the enemy in question. My solution seems quite relevant in this case, despite being based on presumption.

He wants to know if you can hold sprint to sprint, rather than just press it once and continually sprint.
Not how to stop sprinting, which as he stated he knows how to do one of the many methods "hit key once to start sprinting, again to stop".
