Could have a fault with your windows install mate, go to start, right click on computer, click manage, go to event viewer, windows logs then application and check for the last time cod2 crashed and copy paste it here

Apparently it "could" be something to do with audio related? People say plugging in their mic works (mine is always in, so disregard that). I haven't a clue though.

hm that should be alright, check if you're running cod2 in compatibility mode for windows xp sp3, and check that you've assigned cod2mp_s.exe affinity to all 4 cores by opening task manager (ctrl+shift+esc) going to processes tab, right clicking cod2mp_s.exe, clicking set affinity and tick all the boxes. Other than that do a reinstall of cod2 (i guess you've tried that already) and update graphics drivers to the latest version.

I think it's fixed. Once changed the compatibility mode, it runs instantly and doesn't error as I enter server.

I had this with cod4, when i plugged my headset in another station lol. Fixed when i did it in the proper station... Weird codgames :D

this eror is because of windows 7 bugg, you need to put in your PC some microphone and the bugg will stop, i know it hears stupid but yeah it solved my problem and my friends

mine did this if i didnt have my headset plugged in :S
