Price of a movie

During last week, it happened to me twice : someone come to me, and asked me to make him a movie on Call of Duty 4. Nothing strange, until this point : they asked me how much I want to do this.
"Where is the problem?" you'll ask. my problem is : I don't know how much a fragmovie costs. It's true that a movie represents hours of work, but is it legal to sell movies to people you don't know ? How much can I ask for it ?

yup, but i am wondering as well what they are allowed to ask. I remember reading something that you can only ask money as long as the programs you use are officially licensed etc etc. |

Well if you want to "legally" charge money, you'd be considered an entrapeneur, so you would require to go through all the legal loopholes of setting up like tax, licences, royalties etc... just agree on a bit of cash if u want via paypal or smth, no point making it too hard :D |

If your making it for a proper team: 200 till 500 max
If your making it for one guy: 10 till 100 i guess |

You can charge as much as you want, but I don't think there is a big market out there for this sort of stuff.
Nobody can really tell if the program you used to make a movie was licensed or not, but if you're making money from someone elses hardwork, the least you can do is pay the license fee. |

its a very good questions and its one movie questions i dont knwo the awnser to :P U GOT ME!!! Cause ive done reason or mates movies i havent charged money. But for the maount of time spent on a movie id say 100 euros or quid for a player maybe 250 for a team orsmt. I say that only if its a good movie and not some shitty rush job. |

Mind you, a proper movie takes at least a month or so (even if you're just stalling with avidemoing the clips like i do :D) |

yea dont think u can officially charge because of the fact your using songs without the artists permission and using programs that you have just downloaded or whatever, but i guess it doesnt stop people just giving u money, just dont say oh i officially charge 200euros :D
