Black screens on cl_avidemo

I'musing cl_avidemo 60 to make .avi sequences for a fragmovie. I know it happens sometimes one of the thousand .tga screenshots is black (cpu fails or something) : then you just have to deleting the 1 or 2 black screens before rendering the .avi sequence.
My problem is nearly the same, but it happens only in cod4, on Crash and sometimes on Citystreets :
There is no black .tga screens in my sreenshot folder, but when I import these screens into Vegas (8.0 pro), it make a sequence with about 10 or 20 black frames per seconds.
If someone has a solution, or any clue to resolve this problem (does it come from the maps, from vegas, from my cpu ?), please answer :)
If you use another program to transform .tga screens to .avi sequence, give a link or a name.
Thanks by advance :) |

wierd u bring this up because i had the same problem a while ago. It only happen on two maps vacant and crash. I cant remember exactly what i did but i know one problem for black screens is an active microphone or input device. When i talk on vent or just active my mic one bit whilst avidmeoing i get a black screen. i convert my tgas into an avi with 'VDUB' means then i can get rid of all th tga files and just have one AVI. This also sometimes gets rid of the black files as vegas cant read .mpeg-1 files which sometimes the TGA files get saved as ( dont know why this happens)
hope my ranting helped. |

This could be the solution : my sound card is almost dead so I have a constant input/output noise, which may be the reason why these black screens appears.
Hope it will work |

you can also transform .tga files with "Irfanview" wich translates .tga files to .jpg and then "JPGVideo" wich transform .jpg files into a .avi video =D maybe it can work too |

I already work with /r_fullscreen 0 because demos lauch faster in window, but this doesn't get rid of these black sreenshots.

close winamp or sth like that, just close all other programs ;)
when winamp changed track, came black screen.
i made avidemo 120 and i deleted black screens in vegas. moved forward frame by frame, found it and deleted it. it does not effect on clip ;)
just when making avidemo, go and have a snack, cigarette or boil an egg. leave your pc alone and let it work :P gl
yeah my english is not perfect. :) |
