Headset Trouble - Creative HS-600

I have a Creative HS-600
but last week i pressed mute on my wire switch thingy, and also on ventrilo i tapped the mute box, since then my mic gave me problems.. i can hear only sound ingame from left,right,front proper, but evrything what is behind me is realy quiet somehow and i cant tell where the sounds come from
if i do tests in realtek drivers (zooming bee) evrything just seems normal, and music sounds normal
this happens in both cod4 and cod2, and also titanquest (only games i tested)
does someone have a clue what causes this?

i just tested with diff headset , and i get same problem, so it has to do with my PC i guess, funny cuz i changed no settings at all :<< |

actualy no, just found the solution :), somehow in the drivers it changed from headset to surround system, this fixed ;D |

i had this problem with the razer barracuda, gave up and gave it back :) |

something todo with you setting stuff to surround sound or 5.1 would be my guess. make sure everythings on stereo. |

fixed by clean xp instal, it drived me crazyy
