I played CSS for a long time but stopped to play cod4.

I wanna play CSS now but since i got mu new graphcard i just keep on having FPS probs

Here are my pc specs:

Intel C2D E4300 1.8 Ghz
RAM: 4 GB
Graphiccard: NVIDIA Gforce 8800 GT 512 MB
OS: Windows Vista 32 bit

As you guys can see there is nothing wrong with this config I even have some settings on low and a couple FPS boost adjustments.

In my opinion i should just run CSS on high and have good FPS with my pc specs ( only my CPU is a bit lazy)

When I am bored and i start playing public i 20/20 ppl i have like 60 FPS on A long.

Strange thing is i have 125 constantly on COD4 with all my settings HIGH

Download the CAL GUI and something like casey's fps config, quick search on google should find you it.

But the main reason I think your having fps troubles is because of your CPU. CSS is a majorly CPU intensive game and a 1.8GHz 4300 isnt the strongest core. I myself have the same problem I'm running a 6300 @ 1.86GHz and can get 200-300 fps in places but major drops in gunfights etc.

Although try finding a suitable fps config.

*Alternatively - My cfg is in my profile and a quick copy into notepad and save and you can see if it helps at all*

And I dont think your cfg will help cuz i used Casey's config 2 and i didn't even help

CoD4 = GPU intensive | CSS = CPU intensive | CPU = Problem

Ok i have just read this post and i am new to css so i have a question

Q/ autoexec.cfg is this a file in my css folder that i can find and edit. So that when css starts up it will "auto execute" them cmd's.

If so how is it done could anyone give me a little walk through on how to do this.

My reason is, i get a ripple going down my screen when playing css, =(

Until i enter these Cmd's as follows

cl_updaterate 100
cl_cmdrate 100
fps_max 300
cl_smooth 0
rate 200000

I don't really know what they do but they seem to make the game run smoother,

If what i asked above is true then this is a bonus because i have to enter these cmd's every time i run the game [to take the ripple off the screen] Thanx

As you can see i think the only thing letting me down is my Graphics Card =(

Well i think that's what it must be. I don't know mutch about computers but every thing apart from the graphics card looks good on paper...

Right lad's i have figured out how and what i am supposed to do here =) but i have one more problem. I have copy & pasted some of the scripts from the Original Post. The graphics seem to be dumb down a bit. And there is this up & down arrow in the middle of my screen. [have not got a clue what that's for =/]

Also my mouse is really slow,i have looked at the scrip and cant find where to set the mouse speed back to normal.

Sorry to add to the problems by using a script someone else already had a problem with. But i have Google'd css scripts and can only find what look to be cheats. WHICH I DON'T WANT

PLEASE HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY SPARE TIME I AM A FAST LEARNER...

your cpu is bottlenecking ur gfx card, get a Q6600 and problem will be solved

its abit like u need two to tango.. if you have a slow cpu then your cpu will makes your graphics card run at the same speed
