Ok the 1st part of this post will be about my exp with source recorder after the under line is what i have to say in regards to any reply...
So as far as i am aware this is the basic function of the source recorder.
1/ when in css/hl2/or any game with source engine
you bring up the console and type [record <then give it a name>]
for exe record game1
2/ when you have finished your capture type in the console [stop]
3/ then type in the console
sv_cheats 1
host_framerate 90 or 30 [i think you are supposed to have it at 90 because after editing the FPS will be halved]
4/ ok now you type in the console startmovie <and give it a name> for exe Tek9cssvideo avi , you have to put Avi at the end because it will bring up the codec for it to be saved as i.e mp4 Divx and all that. so select a codec click ok.
5/ Now type in the console playdemo game1 < as in step 1 in this explanation ^^
6/ so now it will play back what you recorded before only it will be rendering it so it will seem laggy. just wait till it has finished. Then when it has done type endmovie in the console.
And this as far as i know is all you have to do. OK SO I AM A N00B but i have googled the ass outta this and there a few variations but they all seem to come to this.
Anyway your all more than likely wondering why i am posting about the source recorder. Well as i said this is as far as i know, the best way to use the source recorder, "according to what i have found with google"
My problem is this. when i select ANY of the codecs provided by the source recorder AFTER STEP 4 in my exe of the source recorder. The end quality is really pixelated and the sound NEVER EVER matches whats on screen.
Well i want to make a video of the highest quality possible on my p.c LIKE THE ONES HERE ON TEK-9 NETWORKS [video quality NOT MEANING GOOD EDITING ON MY BEHALF]
and i know it can handle more than what it's been putting out. LOL so my point is what codec can i use that will have blinding quality with the audio to match whats on the screen AND that will load into sony vegas 9.0 for editing
My editing skill are weak but TBH as long as the audio and video image are as good as these Tek-9 videos i dont care about my video editing skills i just want it to look crisp
Any suggestions please.
