are there any here who've managed to bypass the firewall settings set at their UNI in order to access games and the like.
i've looked into various methods on behalf of a friend of mine, including http tunneling but not sure how feasable it is. there's also the issue with him having bad connectivity using wireless broadband sticks so idk if that could be an option either

Ask for a room with a phone point, and get your own ADSL
Its the only reliable solution with halls internet

indeed, except then you run the risk of getting boned financially unless you have forked out the necessary dough for a tv licence in your room at uni that you hardly ever use :<

use ur tele.. usually takes TV license people 6 months to get onto ur case.. im still getting letters from them about the people who were in my flat.. 2 years ago |
TV licensing cant do anything if you watch TV late at night.
They need access to the building, and permission to enter your flat, which means they need staff around.
Obviously this is halls only

they have an obligation to give 24 hours notice to any property they search.. so just remove your tele...
