Question about profile

Hello everyone,
I just started playing cod4 over a month ago. I was mostly at my boyfriends house at that time so I only played it there. Now I also wanna play it on my own pc so I decided to copy my profile to my USB stick and take it with me.
When I replace my data with the data on the stick it shows Error occured: data...
as soon as I load the game. And the profile will be reset to default.
Someone already advised me to only replace the mpdata file and not the whole folder but that doesn't change it.
Does anyone know how to fix this? As I don't want to start all over again.
Thanks!
Greets Els

ahoy there
i dont think it makes any difference, but try putting the data file in a folder named similar to the one you used at your bf's. there's a possibility it might also be relying on the guid to be the same.
other variables like different ip's/mod's may also effect it because the data file may rely on two or more things to be similar to your bf's as a measure to stop people from sharing the data

Although this will mean that she will get the "CD key in use" error when playing at the same time with her bf right? I think that's the only way to do it tho :/ |

Ok I started at this CD key just for fun and then decided to buy my own version. So if I want the rank that I had at his computer & key I should insert his key at my computer, transfer the files and then change it back?
I installed my cod4 version on another computer at his house. So that cod4 uses my key. So it should be possible to transfer those files without any hassle?
I had a rank in the 30 already and now at my pc I have rank 4 which is kinda annoying :D.

You need the same CD key in order to use that profile, so either use his CD key or just rank up your own way :) |

Ok well on my own cd key at his other pc I had 17 or 18. But I got back from 1 to 8 in 2 maps already so I guess I won't bother the hassle and just play on and don't mess it up again :D |
