Hmm, interestingly enough there isnt a new thread for the 1.8 release.

Anyway, regarding the new release of beta 1.8c, Does anyone feel that the rego has significantly changed since maxpackets isnt locked on 63? It is ALOT more random now, sometimes the rego is amazing the others it isnt

I am not raging you raf1 (you get affended quite often) I'm just interested as to why the rego feels so different now?

Yeah the logical explanation to this problem is up the sv_fps to 40 so there are no rounding errors.

This is how Quake 3 and CoD1 were played and those games were by far the best in terms of bullet registration and aim required. The sv_fps 40 also makes the mouse movements a lot better.

It would be worth the developers trying this out as I feel that ProMod + sv_fps 40 will really bring the competitive edge to the game

+10 +3 +2 should stay, or we need a different way to show assists. IMOH

sv_fps 30 was whined on in cod2 aswell, untill they patched it nicely and the whole game improved.

I havent tested the sprinting yet, but unless it becomes how pam had it, it needs to be fixed. Whole timings have been build on spawns and the time it takes to get somewhere. Delay/increase these times and everyone will need to redo their nades (for instance).

Well sv_fps 40 won't work anyway since the max snaps is 30...

As for sv_fps 30, some quake mods like OSP or CPMA are using it to lower pings but in games like ET it's really bugged.

I talked to Morg already about cl_maxpackets 125 and he told me that it was impossible to mod it... Apparently The whole game needs to be updated. It's quite confusing since quake 3 is running cl_maxpackets 100 and some mods can run 125.

erm, sv_fps 40 wouldn't be good i guess... I still remember back in vcod times when i tried to sv_fps settings, the ping lowered until sv_fps 30, but going any higher than that, the server just started to lag. (yes, i had snaps 40 as every guy had.) and yeah, as tigii said, it'd be even hard to use sv_fps 40 =) maybe placebo?

and yeah, dont force shadows off, it's just pointless restrictioning. also, will it affect movie configs?

also, add +2 marks etc :)

try it for yourself with PAM 4, change the sv_fps command and restart the server

As for sv_fps 40, without a snaps of 40, its bad.

I can do a mod to allow 125 maxpackets, rate 30,000 and snaps 40 - but PB will kick for it relentlessy and you have to turn PB off to use it

Cant u ask G-V to edit their scripts then?
Or will PB kick for that even without G-V scripts?
