PromodLive v2.04

Changelog from v2.02

- Several minor bug fixes
- Added delay in the end of the round for movie-makers
- Prevention for "spec-nading"
- Updated promod modes

- Team auto-balancing has been removed

Was causing severe issues, i.e. HUD disappearing and invurnability bug.

- In-game stats removed

The in-game stats has been removed, due to big inaccuracies in values.

- Forcing for maxpackets removed

Forcing for maxpackets (100) removed, it's now possible to use 60 - 100 (Some regions need this, if leagues need fixed values, use punkbuster scripts to force!).

We are once again forcing for maxpackets to 100. Promod for NA and AU will be released seperately with maxpackets unforced.

!IMPORTANT!

readme said:
To avoid any possible issues and if possible, please use fs_game "mods/promodlive204".
If your server host doesn't allow you to change fs_game manually, please use "mods/promodlive2" or anything else what is available. It's not restricted.
Do not rename any files or modify contents of them.

Reason was to unforce it for NA and AU, because their connections are crap. If you are all fine with that, we will make a new dvar, something like promod_nation, which is by default EU and NA has just unforced cl_maxpackets and AU has their own preferences and unforced cl_maxpackets

You have to understand that it's not only you playing this game and mod. Some people need the maxpackets to be lower than 100. Now if that isnt what you want. Get a PB script on and lock it to 100. It isn't harder than that.

And the only reason why new versions come out is that we are fixing stuff that you report. What would you rather have? A buggy release, or a new one that takes 30 seconds to download?

Do you actually think we are spending the majority of our time because we think its fun to release new versions, ro to piss you guys off? IT'S FOR YOU, AND FOR MAKING EVERYONES GAMING ENVIRONMENT BETTER!!

i made them there own mod with free maxpackets. you can do the same. we dont have the problem in eu.

what was all this crap about only fixing not changing?

No doubt about that, tbh i think its awesome work you are doing. But removing the maxpackets force is just a step back from promods sense. promod was coded to unify the rulesets and have even netsettings.

I can understand that theres a problem for someone with a crappy connection, but it also worked in other promod releases. If they care so much about that, then make a NA release or add some dvar like ingram said - but there you would've to make sure that everyone can check it easily, what mode is running so that no one could use it accidently/on purpose

Or another thing that might can be doen to prevent toggeling is the "please reconnect screen"
just liek you guys did on vid_restart
So it is impossible to toggle maxpackets when your playing a round.

After my cast (BASH 113) with Trivve and Ingram, it seems we convinced them to remove the forced maxpackets from Promod LIVE v2.03. Great work guys and thanks to all my fellow CoD4 gamers for all the suggestions.

ffs effort upadting servers, 202rc2 is fine leave it and move on ether play the game or not, and people wonder why cod4 isnt as stable as say cs where they have kept the same mod / settings for years.

That is actually not a bad idea, if its possible that is. Appreciate the bug fixes, really nice work!

The cl_maxpackets change doenst do any good I think for the competitive scene. The lamers will use it and a lot of ppl will get annoyed..

hopefully raf makes a promod for mw2 and doesnt give out the source code. after 2 months or so we should have a stable mod which doesnt get updated weekly (as most of the stuff can just be taken from cod4 as the games dont look all that different)

To be honest your getting further and further from Promod and starting to go on a power trip with it over a few Americans whining they don't like 60 maxpackets.

Bad connections? Promod is for high speed internet only

Your starting to cater for the masses just to get people to download your mod instead of the competitive community, its about time to change name. I have some suggestions

I didnt say anything about gameplay and yeah promod has better game play than pam theres a "pro" mod in most game yet it doesnt mean its "professional" its just a competitive mod but so many people get confused with "professional" and wana be pros etc at the end of the day its a game ffs. 202rc2 is good leave it there move on mw2 out soon see where it take cod why keep splitting up community with diff mods etc blah blah blah.

Ok, we are now making seperate releases to every nation out there:

EU:
maxpacket forcement is back

NA:
Nothing but the name is changed

AU:
Added the needed rules from previous HQ fix which they had


But is this me thinking like this or what: cl_maxpackets, which is optimally changed to something like 63 and I have 125 fps, my ping is potentially lower. Now people comlain about that they can't take people down who cross the street. So much of the game being difficult... Or we make a suggestion to iw that com_maxfps bigger than 250 is cheat protected and we can have cl_maxpackets 125 and rate of 30000?
