Basically im looking to change my ISP with orange keeping interleaving on and i cant make head or tail for the operators i get with Orange when i ring up.

I was checking around and found ADSL24 seems to be pretty good for gaming and ping wise. Anyone got any suggestions on ADSL24 or any other ISP? Feel free to post below

Thanks

No it's not. I do see your point it's difficult to predict the quality of someones line but there are lots of other aspects that make a big difference.

To be fair, it really is. I mean, most (if not all) ISPs do the same kind of job. Some are tailored towards certain types of people (i.e. MPUK broadband) and may be managed slightly better, but all in all, they use the same shitty copper lines, same exchanges, same BT wholesale backhaul, and (essentially) the same equipment. The only thing that really differentiates each ISP is the level of support they give you after you sign up with them. You can complain all you like about having shit connections with ISP "x", but if you switch to ISP "y" you'll still be using the exact same line to your house, and will more than likely have the same problems unless an engineer finds a fault and sorts it out for you.
Some ISPs can under-predict (if you understand me) the usage that will be on the lines that they rent from BT Wholesale, (especially if they offer mad deals for low monies) and so you might get shit speeds/connections in that respect, but that's about the only problem that actual ISPs come across.

Virgin would be good if they didn't advertise shit like "the mother of all broadband connections" then have traffic shaping/monitoring on everytime you download more than 4gb in peak times (or whatever it is). Cable is the future, and BT are actually starting to roll out fibre optic technology to be ready in 2012, so here's hoping that that works out to be decent.

I'd say zen. They're the most likely to actually deal with problems you have, but they're more expensive than most.

I use multiplay, and don't really have a problem with them.

I used to use nildram, and they were OK with exception of random terrible routing to certian parts of europe.

Generally with any of the cheap providers like tiscali, plusnet, tesco, or sky you're taking a gamble. Gamers and support are not really part of their market.

Don't go with BT, indian call centres are useless.

I agree with everything you say.
But I dropped 20ms by changing ISP, My average connection Quadruples for uploads AND downloads.

I've seen people change ISP and their connections have changed massively all the time.

Yes all use teh same equiptment, but there are still thousands of settigngs isp can that enhances/degreades connection. andanotherthign what changes is how each isp perceives 'fair usage' on tiscaly they limited me in 3 days after downloading 1 game and a little fgamign and inet browsing, but fast4 never limited me. and you shoulnd need support if you have listened to instructions and they hold up there end of the deal.

BTNI customers have local call centres, and we're all awesome at our jobs :D
