IEM Asia Championship Finals

Posted by Camiel jetset R. on 2010-02-04 14:05:03
Welcome to TEK9's coverage hub for the $4,000 Intel Extreme Masters Asian Quake Live Championships. The tournament sees Asia's best duellers go head to head to compete for two coveted spots at the Global Finals in CeBIT in March. Next to tournament favorite Zhibo "Jibo" Fan and Japan's best-known Quake player, Tahara "uNleashed" Naonobu, two European players will be making their appearance at the event: Cyrus "proZaC" Malekani from Sweden and Joe "Fenda" Fender from the United Kingdom, who both currently reside in Japan.

The action kicks off tomorrow at 03:00 CET in the morning with live games from the group stages broadcasted by Quake-Live.tv. On day 2, James "2GD" Harding and Joe Miller of ESL TV take over with a low quality stream available for free or a high quality version available for ESL TV subscribers (details here).

Just grabbed a few demos off ESL from last night's games (cba watching streams at 4:00 AM+ <.<).

The skill gap between some players is HUGE; for example here: www.esl-world.net/masters/season4/taipei/quakelive/groupstage/match/17226569
