Ow wow, still need to pack, still need to buy a printer so I can print out my boardingpass for the plane, lmao, still need to wash the most of my clothes, otherwise I'll look like a bum, still need to do a 14hr shift at work tomorow before leaving thursday morning at 8. Good times.
Looks like a good event by winbar and co. Shame I am at stratlan this weekend or I would have loved to joined mennace in casting. Best of luck to everyone attending!
Kaos TV are still ready to cast if one of the admin reads this and can give them access as previously discussed. Not sure what's more important. Giving the community what they want or giving QuadV what they want?
:)
Disclaimer: This comment is in no-way directed in a negative way towards QuadV, but to the organisers themselves. We learn new things every day, especially in the events indsutry. Contingencies must always be in place, I feel.
I do love a good broad statement speaking about what every viewer wants. Can I borrow that crystal ball for cebit in march so I know how to cast perfectly to everyone's tastes.
There is no crystal ball. You already cast perfectly! :D
The organisers said from the get-go that the internet connection wouldn't be good enough for a decent stream, that's why Kaos TV decided to offer their services. No crystal ball required when the organisers already know it's gonna happen.
Tigz phoned me from the event last night and said he could barely get connected to pub. When he eventually connected, he had a ping of 110 or higher on netsky :D
Think some of you are being a little harsh, especially not knowing the facts.
There is an entirely separate connection for the stream, so issues people are having connecting to publics are not related. The reason the stream went down is a problem with the media line that we are working to resolve, this would have been the same line used for any other streaming solution. We're working flat out to fix it, and it's obviously better to get these teething issues out of the way in the early group stages.
In terms of other issues for people at the event, it's all down to what we prioritise. At the top of the list is ensuring that games can authenticate, e.g. Steam based games to make sure the people at the LAN can play on the LAN, followed by basic browsing/online comms. Unfortunately, playing online is low down that list, but we're more than happy to set up whatever internal servers people need if they come and ask.
As soon as we have an update we'll let you know. Depends if it's an issue at this end or on the physical line (and yes, we do test these things before!).
Aye, ouur A went completely wrong on def, smg's were so fast in A and mid that our smgs couldnt do fuck all, rly well played to them, was a close game wich I didnt expect at all.

Problem which was foreseen, yet still not avoided! Godammit!
Is their internet down since everyone on my xfire list at epicLAN just signed off.
I don't see why they can't just let someone use a VPN and stream, it's more coverage for the event :S
