page 1: Introduction
This week Barakaldo, Spain will be the host of what is expected to be one of the biggest LAN events this year, especially in terms of the number of attendants. Between the 24th-27th of July, the Euskal Encounter (www.euskalenocounter.org) will be taking place at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Barakaldo (close to Bilbao) with more than 4000 individuals attending Spain's biggest LAN party.
Next to the various open amateur competitions, the Euskal Encounter will be the host of the prestigious GameGune. This year's GameGune is set to feature two professional competitions for the games Quake III: Arena (CPMA vq3) and Counterstrike 1.6, which the total combined prizepot exceeding €25,000.
