The fourth annual European Nations Cup (ENC), hosted by the guys over at the ESL is here! This year the tournament is bigger and better than ever, featuring 2 new games (Call of Duty 4 and DotA) in addition to the old 4 (Counterstrike 1.6, Counterstrike Source, Warcraft 3 and FIFA 09). This coverage is dedicated to the Call of Duty 4 section, but we aim to follow the other competitions as well, in particular the exploits of Team Belgium, who are being represented in part by TEK-9 players.
The competition sees 27 teams from across Europe fight it out for the two spots at the grand final LAN event in Germany, and ultimately the glory of winning. As it is the first year of CoD4, there is no prize fund. This means players are playing for the honour of their country rather than any personal gain.
We wish all the teams good luck, and hope that they can set a good example to ensure that CoD4 (or perhaps MW2) will appear in next year's ENC, where it will hopefully recieve a prizefund alongside the other events.
Is there a live stream coverage with commentary anywhere for this btw? QuadTV etc? Or just the updates after the games have happened on the ESL site and here?

no matter if there is money or not... some team just showed total idiotism by not playing their matches ,or showing up. getting penalty points and prooving; cod community wont get any money in advance for esl series...Probably nice chance is ruined--
You could just add 15 players and send noobs out to play, just to save dignity of the scene... like this 4 th is dissqualified... great job france,sweden,spain and hungary
5 teams disqualified? Lol bunch of iresponsible donks. I love it how the biggest nation league is treated by the cod4 players as its a big pile of useless shit. Too bad for the teams in qualifying stages that really cared about the cup but lost to those teams.
