page 2: Call of Duty 4 Tournament

The Call of Duty 4 tournament will have 3 main steps.
First off is the main groupstage of 4 teams in each group with 12 groups, where the winner will go directly to the playoff tree. Second place gets you to groupstage number 2 which consists of 3 teams in each group with a total of 4 groups, where you battle out other teams that placed at second place in their group.
Winner of each group in groupstage 2 then goes to the playoff tree where they will battleout eachother in a 16 team double elimination bracket!
The teamlist and group dividement will be available as soon as the registration is closed.
Below is the ruleset thats going to be followed

Map selection The maps will be decided by drawing the map from a bag. To decide which team will be drawing the map out of the bag we will do a coin toss between the 2 team captains. The team captain who wins the coin toss can decide if he will draw the map from the bag or if the other team captain draws the map from the bag.
Map pool: - mp_backlot - mp_crash - mp_crossfire - mp_district - mp_strike
This selection will be used throughout the whole tournament. That means groupstages and playoffs.
Cheating All players are forced to record in-eyes demos (demos can be uploaded to our ftp by contacting an admin). No 3rd party program (e.g. Powerstrip, Rivertuner etc.) or scripts/configging (e.g. nadescripts, macros etc. including configs that change commands/rates. These commands range from set nade binds to gain the longest throw to scripting a superior firing rate of semi-automatic weapons. This also includes multi-command binds such as bind MOUSE2 "toggleads; +attack on scroll wheel".) are allowed during matches. The only 3rd party programs allowed are voice communication programs like Teamspeak and Ventrilo
If a player is caught cheating the entire team will be instantly banned from Antwerp eSport Festival.
Clipping is not allowed. Clipping is when a player can manipulate him/herself so that he or she can see over (or through) particular walls. The admins have full discretion to determine if clipping was involved.
17.4 Players are allowed to edit their mp_config file in their player directory. Players are not allowed to have any other configuration files inside this directory. Any other configuration files found will be considered a violation of the rules and will be sanctioned according to 11.2
Groupstage 1 We have 12 groups consisting of 4 teams per group. Each match will be played as 1map mr12. If the match end with a 12-12 score then a TIE will be the score. NO overtime in the groupstages.
After all the group matches only the teams that got 1st will go on to the playoffs. All the 2nd place finishers will be shuffled into a second groupstage. The 3rd and 4th place finishers will be done with their AeF COD4 tournament.
Groupstage 2 For the 2nd groupstage we will have 12 teams shuffled into 4 groups of 3 teams. Again in case of a 12-12 score it will be a TIE and no overtime to be played. The 4 1st place finishers will be added to the other 12 teams and that will complete the groupstages with 16 teams going into a Double Elimination Playoff.
Double Elimination Playoffs The double elimination will be played on 1 map mr12 (rcon promod_mode lan_mr12). In the event of an tied score (12-12) an overtime will be played. This overtime is played on the same map on mr3 (rcon promod_mode lan_mr3) mode. The winning team will go on in the winner bracket and the losing team will drop down to the loser bracket.
The Consolation & Grand Final Both the Consolation and the Grand final will commence with the team from the lower bracket choosing a map from the poole. If the team from the lower bracket were to win this map then the team from the upper bracket will choose a second map from the remaining four. The winner of this second game will be declared the winner of Antwerp eSports Festival 2008.
